Alright, enough of procrastinating, I'd better do this post before I forgot what we did in Macau.
*My timeline's pretty messed up, don't remember when we went where. Trying to be as accurate as I can*
After Guia Fortress, we went walked to the local shopping street, didn't manage to get much stuff from there, though we did get caramel corns from the Daiso there for us to snack on at night, with some other snacks we bought from a provision shop near our hotel.
The locals said that there hasn't been rain in Macau for a couple of months, but when we were there, it was either drizzling or heavy downpour there.
When we were half-way walking down the streets, it started pouring. After waiting for like 20 mins, the rain finally started getting smaller, we hailed a cab and went back to the hotel for a short rest before we head out to Macau Tower.
After about 2 hours of rest, we left for Macau tower!
When we entered the building, there's was this huge board showing all the activities available, and of course, there is the world highest bungee jump, which they call:
It's called 笨猪 because in cantonese they read "bahn-g". So it's kinda like a phonics literal translation.. We had a really good laugh when we first saw it.
We headed up the tower, and the view was really nice!
There are portions of floor over there that are see through glasses, that means when you are walking on it, you can actually see the bottom. I am afraid of heights, and when I saw it, I did not dare to walk on it, so did Grace. So both of us were standing next to the glass panels and giggling, cause we wanted to try walking on it, but were too scared. We kept lifting our legs, hover over the panels and pull them back on the steps, giggling all the while. We must have been quite a sight because this guy and his wife, standing in front of us, actually started taking a video of us. Hahaha it was so embarrassing!
Thank god majority of the floor area are covered in tiles, so I managed to snap some photos. I was walking along, and I saw this on the window:
This is a warning sign when bungee jumping is available. Imagine not having this sign and you see someone falling in front of you, the reaction would have been hilarious, more so than this sign. Actually there can be another scenario , imagine some idiot thinking that it's a show of sorts and stood in front of that window, waiting to see someone fall in front of him, hahaha, though I saw no such idiot that night.
Grandma was kinda bored and wanted to take a photo, so I let her:
We headed to Grand Lisboa for dinner.
This is well known in Macau. It is so prominent everyone uses it as a reference point. This is the new one, the old one which was just beside it, doesn't look as impressive.
23rd June 2010
Headed to a nearby neighbourhood Dim Sum restaurant for breakfast. Was suppose to head to Senado Square to do some shopping (it's like 8 mins walk from our hotel) but because there was a heavy rain, we had to change our plans and take the hotel shuttle bus to a hotel that is nearest to the Science Centre and from there we had to walk. It was quite a walk because the Science Centre was not near the other building.
This is newly built, completed late last year. The science centre here is so much better than what we have here in Singapore. It is very interactive, not like the boring shit we have in Singapore. It is divided into different rooms, where there are activities related to the different sciences.
From Science Centre, we took a cab down to Senado Square.
Wanted to do my shopping there, but didn't manage to, went to the Giordano outlet, came out and it started raining again... So we were stuck there, waiting for the rain to stop, rushed through the rest to senado Square to get to the St. Paul's Ruins.
Headed back to the hotel after that, rested for a couple of hours and left for the Fisherman's Wharf. I was so disappointed, was looking forward to taking some nice photos, but most of the areas where closed. I could not bother to take any photos. Wanted to go Yaohan instead, but by the time we finished dinner, it was too late. So in the end, we headed back to the hotel.
24th June 2010
The last day in Macau! We had to check out by 11, and our flight was at 6pm. So after we checked out, we head to The Venetian, which was on another island, though still part of Macau.
It was fuuny, what my uncle did when he took this photo for us using his camera. He took a shot with only the 4 of us, without Gerard, because he forgot that he was there!
First place we headed to after we alighted from the bus, we went to drop our luggage, then went to have our lunch at the food court there, it was b-e-a-utiful.
We headed over to City of Dreams, an integrated entertainment resort, with hotels like Hard Rock Hotel, Crown and Hyatt. As part of their attraction, they have this free laser show "Dragon Treasure" in The Bubble.
It's kinda like the omni theater but cooler, because we were in this semi-circle of screen, and the visual effects are all around, and and instead of seats, we all have to stand, which is kinda cool, making the experience better.
After the show, we went to Kid's City at the Hard Rock Hotel, my uncle suggested leaving Grace there will we go walk around or to the casinos, but my aunt feel that it's not safe, so we ended up sitting outside and waiting for time to head to the airport. There's nothing much to shop though, the shops they have there are all designer boutiques. When it was close to 4, we headed back to The Venetian.
My aunt and uncle went to collect our luggage, which was at the other end of The Venetian (it's huge!), while we waited.
Took the hotel's shuttle service to the airport, then it was Good Bye Macau!
